• Is non-MSC status company allowed in a MSC status building?

  Yes. Generally there is no restriction against occupation of MSC status office by a non-MSC status company.

• What is the difference between MSC Tier 1 office and MSC Tier 2 office?

  MSC Tier 1 office refers to the MSC Designated Premises which provide BOG1 i.e. world-class physical and information infrastructure world-class physical. If you are a MSC Tier 1 company, you must have your office in MSC Tier 1 office / MSC Designated Premises in order to enjoy the full incentives and rights conferred by the Malaysian Government for MSC Status companies. On the other hand, MSC Tier 2 office refers to commercial premises other than the MSC Designated Premises, that are located within the MSC Status Cybercity/ Cybercentre. Such Tier 2 offices are usually strata office and located near to the MSC Designated Premises. Example of MSC Tier 2 offices are the Vertical Business Suite in Bangsar South City and Q Sentral in KL Sentral.

• My company is a MSC Tier 1 company. Can we have our office in MSC Tier 2 buildings?

  If you are a MSC Tier 1 company you need to have your office in MSC Designated Premises / MSC Tier 1 building in in order to enjoy the full incentives and rights conferred by the Malaysian Government for MSC Status companies.

• My company is a MSC Tier 2 company. Can we have our office in MSC Tier 1 buildings?

  Yes, if you are a MSC Tier 1 company, you can choose to have your office in either MSC Tier 1 building or MSC Tier 2 building without affecting the incentives, privileges and rights you are entitled to as a MSC Status company.

• Is MSC Status office more expensive than non-MSC office?

  Not necessary. One should look at the value such MSC Status office can offer in return for the rental paid, instead of just looking at the price tag to determine if a MSC office is more expensive than non-MSC offices. While MSC Status office is highly sought-after due to its MSC status certification, strategic location, limited supply and cutting-edge infrastructure and technology, the rental or price of such offices may fluctuate depending demands for offices and the economy of the country as a whole.
